It's Here...The Week of the Young Child!

Every year, the National Association for the Education of Young Children celebrates the Week of the Young Child (WOYC).  This year's celebration is April 16-20, 2018.  We invite you to join the celebration, by enjoying the young children in your life, and their caregivers throughout the WOYC!

During the week, each day has a fun theme to inspire your festivities!

Musical Monday! April 16, 2018

More than just a time to get your wiggles out, music helps your child learn about math and literacy as well!

Tasty Tuesday! April 17, 2018

From reading a recipe and measuring out ingredients, to menu planning and shopping for new foods, cooking with your child teaches them about culture, literacy, math, and healthy choices!

Work Together Wednesday! April 18,2018

Start a project together.  Children will develop communication and problem solving during co-operative tasks!

Artsy Thursday! April 19,2018

Set aside time to create with your child.  Provide open ended materials and allow your child to engage in the creative process.

Family Friday! April 20,2018

Spending time with your family strengthens social bonds that last a lifetime.  Children learn about themselves and their culture through their families, so dedicate time to teach them.  Share stories and pictures from the past, enjoy family meals together, or just play!
