Positive Behavior Project (PBP)

The Positive Behavior Project (PBP) is designed to support Child Care Providers, including those working within a center program and family childcare providers, in promoting positive social emotional and behavioral development of young children.
The Positive Behavior Project (PBP) includes the following components:
Pyramid Model
- The Pyramid Model is a research and evidence based practices to early childhood programs.
- Training in the pyramid model focuses on promoting social emotional development and school readiness of young children birth to age 5.
- To support this goal, we have developed a training and coaching plan for promoting young children's social-emotional competence and preventing and addressing challenging behavior.
- Social-Emotional Curriculum
The Positive Behavior Project works with providers and center directors to evaluate and support decisions regarding Social-Emotional Curriculum along with supporting the implementation of the curriculum including training and support for materials.
- Mental Health Referral/Consultation
- There is coordination with the mental health systems within Arapahoe County leading to better connections with providers and support for referrals when needed.
