Friends, Family, Neighbors (FFN)

Supporting Family, Friend And Neighbor Child Care through Personal Visits
Friends, Family and Neighbors (FFN) is an early childhood family support program available to non-traditional child care providers in Arapahoe County; including grandparents, neighbors and other friends or family members caring for children birth to kindergarten. This program is designed to enhance child development and school achievement through care provider education.
Caring for Children is Hard Work!
In the first few years, children learn more and at a faster pace than any other time in life. You help shape a child’s future through the kinds of experiences you provide. Children are born to learn and as a care provider you are instrumental in the child’s growth and development.
FFN Care Helps
By understanding what to expect during each stage of development, care providers can easily capture the teachable moments in everyday life to enhance children’s language development, intellectual growth, social development and motor skills. An FFN care provider educator will come to your home and provide you with information and resources to ease your load.
As a FFN care Provider you Receive:
- Personal Visits: Monthly meetings in your home with an FFN educator who will share age-appropriate child development information. You’ll get tips on discipline, toy and book selection, creating a safe and stimulating environment and how to build happy and healthy relationships.
- Care Provider Meetings: Group opportunities to support and share.
- Resource Network – Providing links to other community services.
