Expanding Quality for Infant and Toddler Care

Are you the best ECE teacher you can be?
Expanding Quality for Infants and Toddlers is a 48-hour training that was developed through the Colorado Department of Education to improve and expand quality in infant and toddler programs. We know that more education results in a higher level of quality, and EQIT is designed to further your professional development.

New tools to assess and improve your teaching skills
EQIT provides a strength-based approach to working with the teachers both in training and during onsite coaching. You will be asked to reflect on your current practices through a tool called the RELATE Reflections. You will also be encouraged to take advantage of coaching to further your understanding of the content and your role in the lives of young children.

EQIT includes 16 modules that cover topics such as:

  • Brain development
  • Responsive care giving
  • Culture
  • Meeting the emotional needs of infants and toddlers
  • Environments
  • Celebrating the profession

When is EQIT offered?
ACECC provides trainings at Arapahoe Community College and at ACECC offices. You may take the course for credit (additional work required).
